We're so glad you're here! This site is to help anyone diagnosed with Medullary Thyroid Cancer and their caregivers find valuable information and support. If you'd like to connect with others with MTC, please consider joining our very active Facebook Group. You don't have to go through this alone!

If you don't yet have a copy, please download the American Thyroid Association Guidelines for the Management of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma, aka 'The Guidelines.' This is the MTC Bible. Read it and know it and it will help you and your doctor ensure you get the proper treatment.

Lastly, please consider looking into being seen by an MTC expert. We do our best to keep a running list of what we call 'Centers of Excellence.' These are doctors and facilities that are properly trained and experienced enough to treat MTC patients. It's one of the most important decisions you can make on your journey.

Request for help with MTC research from Tim Erickson, PhD

I recently presented data for a new type of MTC Cell Therapy at ThyCa, and the next logical step is to run a mouse model to see if these specialized immune cells can cure tumors in mice. Many of you have expressed an interest in supporting this pioneering research, and I have some excellent news to share. ThyCa is now accepting donations to support the In Vivo MTC Cell Therapy Study, whereby the therapy will be tested in mice with implanted MTC tumors. As ThyCa is a 501c3, proceeds are 100% tax-deductible and 100% of funds will go toward running a 'mouse clinical trial' to formally test this therapy in vivo. I will share the data in real-time via Facebook as it comes in.

As the MTC-killing 'T cells robots' worked beautifully in a petri dish directly lysing MTC tumor cells, my hope is that they will fully eradicate tumors in mice, and that this study will provide proof-of-concept data to move toward a clinical trial. This is the final leg of the research journey that I have been on since my Stage IVa diagnosis in 2014, and I would profoundly appreciate your support toward developing this novel and potentially curative therapy for MTC.
